Enterosorption is widely used in veterinary medicine to detoxify the body of animals in the case of poisoning, as well as other acute and chronic diseases involving the development of endotoxemia, digestive disorders, changes in the immune status and metabolism. The purpose of the review is to analyze domestic and foreign enterosorbents for veterinary medicine, as well as the most relevant ways of modified enterosorbents "purposeful" action. The article provides an overview of veterinary enterosorbents and their classification, depending on the structure of the dosage form, the technology of their production. This work lists the basic requirements for quality of enterosorbents for animals. This article describes the most important ways of modified enterosorbents, specifics of choice of modifiers and initial carriers in order to obtain safe and effective materials of “purposeful” action. It shows the main physico-chemical and biomedical properties of modifiers used to develop sorbents for veterinary use, their classification, as well as their basic requirements. Presented the benefits of carbon enterosorbent “Zookarb” obtained by technology of the Institute of Hydrocarbon Processing, SB RAS is widely used in the agriculture. Its physical-chemical and medico-biological properties are described. Carbon sorbents with high efficiency and safe use are of greatest interest. Creating carbon materials with detoxifying and corrective properties and with high adsorption activity with respect to the certain toxic substances by adjusting the chemical nature of their surface is of practical interest as it allows to expand the range of biospecific action sorbents.
