Creation of an infectious background for selection of sunflower plants resistant to fusariose root rot in the air conditions. Antonova T.S., Araslsnova N.M., Saukova S.L., and Yu.V. Klippert. "Scientific Bulletin", VNIIMK, 2005, v. 1 (132). Fusariose disease of sunflower, caused by Sporotrichiella fungi known for their toxicity, became the usual phenomenon in areas of its cultivation on Northern Caucasus. Anticipatory breeding on resistance becomes an imperative need. One of necessary conditions for this purpose is creation of an infectious background of sufficient rigidity. Results of three-year tests of various inoculum dozes of strongly pathogenic strain F. sporotrichiella var. sporotrichioides are presented, and middle pathogenic strain F. oxysporum var. orthoceras applied in hils by means of hand planter before sowing of sunflower seeds of different genotypes in the field conditions are presented. Inoculum doze threshold prepared from these strains in creation of a rigid infectious background for selection of resistant plants inside of lines, hybrids and varieties are established.
