Creation of wholesale food markets in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation

The article discusses the need to create wholesale food markets in the Russian Federation. The wholesale food market is an effective market sales channel that will overcome the monopoly of retail chains, eliminate a significant number of unorganized intermediaries in the promotion of food, reduce the cost of circulation and stabilize prices, improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic food in the domestic market. According to experts, the creation of such markets in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation guarantees both national and regional food security. However, it is crucial to study the foreign experience in market creation during their organization. A special place in the article is given to the role of consumer cooperation in the formation and functioning of wholesale food markets. The presence of separate real estate facilities and the effective management of the existing property complex can be a good driver for the development of consumer cooperation in the regions and, accordingly, wholesale markets. The article includes analytical data on the market capacities of the regions in the Russian Federation and proposes infrastructure for a modern regional wholesale food market.
