Creation of perspective lines of bulb onion variety "Strigunovsky local"

The results of the creation of promising lines of onion for the restoration of the Strigunovsky local variety in a three-year culture at the Belgorod State University named after V.Ya. Gorin are presented. The work is carried out on behalf of the Governor of the Belgorod Region at the expense of the federal budget in the direction of restoring the varietal qualities of onions of the Strygunovsky local variety. Typicality of the onion of the spotty Strigunovsky local variety was brought to a color of 100% and the shape of the bulb up to 58-97%. The number of sowing fit for a family landing was 56-96%. Evaluation of eight prospective onion families of the Strygunovsky local variety for different planting times of the first section seeding with a yield of the parent plant of 65-95% was carried out. The yield of the parent plant with an onion weighing 150 or more was 78-91%. The weight of the onion bulb in the early winter sowing was 124 g, with the spring it was 165 g. The height of the flower arrows was 103 cm, the number of arrows on the plant - 3-6 pieces. The seed productivity of one plant was 4.8 g from the parent plant with a mass of 100 g or more and 3.6 g from the parent plants with a mass of less than 100 g, and the yield of onion seeds was 7.05 c/ha and 5.3 c/ha appropriately. The created lines will be used for further breeding work. The seedling and the parent plant of the harvest of 2017 will be used to obtain the original onion seeds of the Strygunovsky local variety in 2018.
