Creation of varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops with increased content of biologically active substances and antioxidants

The problem of employment of uncommon vegetable crops with increased content of biologically active substances and antioxidants as potential sources of material for creation of new generation of products of nutritional, dietary, treatment-and-preventive and drug destination was considered. The possibility of creation of varieties, hybrids and lines of vegetable crops with increased content of secondary metabolites by means of directional breeding on biochemical parameters for the change of plants metabolism was discussed. The resume of activity All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Breeding and Seed Production of Vegetable Crops on introduction and molecular breeding of different species of vegetable crops was presented.
