Special knowledge as an evaluation category in criminal proceedings

The article deals with the problems of uncertainty of the category of "special knowledge" used in criminal proceedings. Attention is drawn to its evaluative nature in the context of the implementation of criminal procedural activities, an assessment of the existing legislative and scientific provisions regarding the problem under consideration is given. An attempt is made to disclose the content of the concept of "special knowledge" in the context of its consideration as an evaluation category, as well as to develop criteria for an objective approach to assessing the special knowledge of persons involved in criminal proceedings.
