The article deals with the study of specific features of engineering pedagogical education as a social institution based on the analysis of functional transformations of the education in general. The author argues that the specificity of the engineering pedagogical education is determined by involvement of the two spheres of human activity with fundamentally different foundations of organization of these activities.
