The specifics of civic identity and patriotism in modern Russia

The authors of the article examined the specifics of the formation of the concepts of «civic identity» and «patriotism» in modern Russia. Many scientists and practitioners believe that in order to form a «civic identity» and «patriotism», it is necessary to promote clear and valid information corresponding to today's realities. Only by doing tremendous work with the population, authorities, institutions, organizations, and the media can we achieve unity, create a civic identity and maintain a high level of patriotism. Especially in the modern period, the state has an urgent need to move from the installation «the state is obliged to us» to the installation «to develop and contribute to our country». Only following this can ensure the safety and prosperity of the future Russia.
