The specific features and the role of education in the modern Russian economy

The present stage of global and domestic economy development supposes creation of a knowledge-based society, where social and economic wellbeing of the country is determined by the high technologies, innovative capabilities, and the level of science-driven growth. The society succeeding industrial production is often defined as a knowledge-based economy or, if put it simply, but less correct - as an economy of knowledge. The article deals with the application of the knowledge-based economy in the modern socioeconomic development of the country. The author studies the educational system reforms, problems of integration of the national education into the international market of educational services.
