In the article the dialectal semantic derivation is examined as a result of the processes of semantic broadening and narrowing on the material of a regional dialect. The reasons and main features of these derivational processes have been established. Semantic derivatives functioning specifics have been analyzed in the context of the dialects of Udmurtia.
