The article presents the features associated with the allocation of adequate factors of competitiveness of organizations that provide supplementary educational services. The approaches of dividing factors into external and internal, resource and functional, stable and unstable are analyzed. The article proves that the choice of criteria for evaluating the competitive advantages of an educational organization depends on the level of education, the subject activity area and regional characteristics. According to the results of the study, the author presents an adapted matrix of M. Porter's competitive strategies for various institutions of supplementary education.
