The specific features of musical imagery in cinema

This article deals with the aspects of the mutual influence of cinema and music art, the role of music in the artistic and aesthetic structure of the film. For this reason, the study reviews the specific features of music line in films which are more independent than traditional musical thinking unrelated to the cinema. The author explains the basic expressive means and peculiarities of musical art in cinema. The article reveals that any musical expressive means can be dominant; it is more differentiated and autonomous in its development. It is primarily a melody, timbre, rhythm, and instrumentation. The distinctive features of film music are fragmentation, mosaic structure, polygenre nature, polystylism, incomplete forms, and dual nature. Based on the cultural analysis, the author develops the emerging cognitive mechanisms of relations between science, culture and art.
