Funeral rite is one of the most important markers that gives a clue to the worldview of a given community of ancient people. The article describes the features of the funeral rite of such South American coastal cultures as Pajan (12800-9600 BP) and Las Vegas (10800-6600 BP) and outlines the possible prospects for their study connected to the work of anthropologists and genetics.
