Translation specific features of scientific and technical texts in terms of cognitivism

This article is devoted to the study of the specific features of the translation of scientific and technical texts within the framework of cognitivism. The goal is to determine the specificity of the translation of scientific and technical texts by studying its main features. Various theoretical aspects on this topic have been analyzed, using a complex approach, specific features of translation in terms of cognitivism are determined, analytical review of the literature on the problems and difficulties of translation is made. Examples of scientific and technical information are scientific articles, technical documentation, instruction and others. The basis of technical translation is scientific style. This style is characterized by accuracy and clarity of representation, impersonality and lack of emotional coloring, in order to achieve this, the translator needs to have knowledge of special vocabulary and terminology, as well as knowledge of the professional field of activity in which the translation is performed. The translator of the scientific and technical text is faced with the task of explicit delivery the meaning of the original by means of a scientific style that corresponds to the Russian language with regard to its specific features while the text of the translation should be equivalent and adequate.
