The digital era dictates new requirements not only for the skills and abilities of university graduates, but also defines a different approach to organizing the learning process itself. The digital transformation of education cannot be successful without taking into account the specifics of the student, which implies the study of the subject of the educational process. The article examines the features of the models of activity, communication and value systems of the digital generation, talks about the changing role of the teacher and the departure from the traditional authoritarian style of managing the educational process.
