The specifics of yoga perception among practicing and non-practicing females

The issues of the specifics of perception of yoga as an integrated system of physical and spiritual health improvement is discussed. The research instrument developed using experimental psychosemantics procedures allowed us to analyze the factor structure of yoga image of practicing and non-practicing females and to build multi-dimensional semantic spaces which are an operational model of categorical structures of perception of several objects (activity, knowledge, harmony, tension, etc.). We have identified three factors similar for the two analyzed groups («Mental development», «Physical development», «Destructiveness») and a factor «Exclusiveness» that is specific for practicing research subjects.
