Lists of workers of Sverdlov Pulp Mill in Sokol from 1934-1938 as a demographic source

The paper, using documents from the State Archives of the Vologda Region, which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, analyzes the accounting documents and lists of one category of workers—labor settlers (special settlers—”former kulaks”) who worked at the Ya. Sverdlov Pulp Mill in Sokol, Vologda Region. The statistical and historical analysis of the information presented in the documents of 1934-1938 is carried out. The indicators of the number, employment and movement of labor migrants are considered, based on the lists, data on marital status and gender and age structure are revealed. The importance of analyzing local accounting documents in historical and demographic research is shown.
