Gossip as a variety of fake information

The article considers the phenomenon of regional fake news using the example of the regional news agency «SeverPost». It shows that «SeverPost» uses information from social networks and presents it from one side that is beneficial to the agency. It is proved that fake regional news fits the category of news that cast doubt on traditional forms of power and power relations. The idea has been put forward that regional news is more like gossip than “textbook” fakes.
