World of insects in sports discourse (entomological metaphor in German sports discourse)

The article offers a cognitive analysis of entomological metaphors in German sports discourse in order to identify the main components of metaphorical reflection. The study indicates the presence of sustainable models in German sports discourse. Metaphors with the components «butterfly», «bee», «ant» are used to realize positive connotations, and on the contrary, components «cockroach», «spider», «mosquito», «fly» are for the negative ones.
