Ice-frost deposits on current-carrying parts and ground-protective overhead lines can lead to breakage of wires and ground-wire cables, destruction of insulator chains and pylons, while currently used ice-control devices are few, the quality of their work is mainly determined by the control systems used, and newly developed control systems may contain algorithmic errors. Currently, current melting and physic-chemical method, electrothermal method - the most common ways to counter the icing of power lines in Samara region.
