Ways of implementing interactive methods in teaching foreign languages at non-lingustic departments

The article is devoted to implementation of interactive forms of teaching foreign languages at non-linguistic departments of Buryat State University. University foreign language course is communication and professionally oriented process. Its tasks are defined by communicative and cognitive needs of training future specialists. The main objective of foreign language teaching at university is to create an enabling environment for independent research and creative activities of students. The objective may be reached by implementation of interactive forms of learning (discussion, debates, blitz-survey, business games, role play, the analysis of groupmate’s written work, project method, case-study method, etc.). These techniques are used in foreign languages teaching at non-linguistic departments of Buryat State University. We describe different ways of implementing interactive technologies in teaching process. The interactive methods of teaching contribute to formation of students’ foreign language competence.
