The article discusses options for modernization of existing small-section mills. An analysis of the current technology for cooling rolled products at mill 170 of PJSC MMK was carried out. The results of research and development work in 2020-2021 are considered, which showed the advantage of those developed at MSTU rolling modes over the current modes at the mill.
