The article is devoted to an urgent problem in teaching a foreign language - reading, which is a necessary skill in modern activity and is defined as one of the means of obtaining and mastering information. To analyze the methods and types of reading used in teaching a foreign language in the context of a communicative approach, to identify the most effective auxiliary tools that can be used in the process.
