Comparison of induction of apoptosis in cell cultures at low and ultra-high dose rate photon irradiation

Objective: to compare the biological effectiveness of exposure to high-power radiation and low-power radiation in terms of the development of late apoptosis when they irradiate cell cultures. Materials and methods: installations used for irradiation: "Angara-5-1" and "Rocus-AM". In cultures of A549, HEK 293, and HCT116, flow cytofluorimetry was used to investigate the development of late apoptosis by the level of hypoplodoid peak with propidium iodide. Results: a higher level of development of late apoptosis was revealed when cell cultures were irradiated with high-power radiation. Conclusion: in relation to the development of late apoptosis, a higher biological efficiency of high-power radiation compared with low-power radiation has been shown.
