Comparison of the efficiency of lattice and solid arches in large-span structures

Бесплатный доступ

Lattice and solid arches are widely used in construction to cover large spans reaching 100 meters or more. Most often in practice, two-and three-hinged arches are used, as well as arches with puffs that perceive large spacer forces, in a solid or lattice design. When designing such structural elements, the question arises about the efficiency of work and the comparison of their final metal consumption, as well as the metal consumption of the entire frame with a similar solution of the main load-bearing structures. As a study, the variant of covering the ice arena with a span of up to 98m in two versions will be considered: with a lattice and a solid arch, and a conclusion will be made about the effectiveness of using such design solutions.
