Comparison of power supply systems in Russia and western countries: voltage, frequency, grounding

Бесплатный доступ

This article discusses the features of the energy systems of Western countries and Russia. The key differences between existing power supply systems in terms of the main parameters of the quality of electrical energy and the reasons for their differences are analyzed. The issue of differences in voltage between the supply systems of the USA and Russia and the reasons for these differences has been studied. The main distinctive features in the construction of electrical networks in the USA are given. Diagrams of the windings of consumer power transformers used abroad are given. The impact on devices and equipment is considered, and the difficulties associated with the operation of electrical equipment when interacting in different power supply systems are noted. Based on the results of the article, a conclusion was drawn about the features of Russian power supply systems in comparison with Western countries and their advantages and disadvantages were noted.
