The article describes the types of comparative constructions and relations that they express in a western dialect of the Khanty language (Shuryshkar). As an object and example for comparison with the component ‘human’, a living being (human or animal), object or natural phenomenon may be used. Comparison may be based on appearance, body type, posture, types of activity, behavior, personal traits, parametric traits, etc. Very often, names of body parts are used to create the comparison. In the Shuryshkar dialect, means of comparison can be divided into synthetic and analytic types. 16 markers of comparison are described: comparative suffix, as well as various particles, postpositions, comparative predicates.
