In the current “Veterinary (Veterinary Sanitary) Rules” of the Republic of Kazakhstan, when detecting cows infected with bovine leukemia virus (BLV), priority is given to serological studies of blood serum: agar gel immunodiffusion reactions (IDR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). However, neither the IDR nor the more sensitive ELISA methods are not without drawbacks. Therefore, the search for other highly informative methods for laboratory diagnosis of cattle leukemia is of great importance. One of them, in our opinion, may be the indirect immunofluorescence reaction which, along with ELISA and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), according to the literature, has become an integral part of the research protocol for most diseases of an infectious nature. In this regard, the aim of our work was a comparative study of the effectiveness of existing methods for the diagnosis of BLV infection (IDR, ELISA) with IIR. To achieve this goal, a total of 783 blood serum samples were taken from cattle aged 2 years and older in 4 agricultural enterprises located in the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay Regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan...
