Comparative evaluation of thrombolysis and heparin therapy results in case of non-massive pulmonary embolism

A case of non-massive pulmonary embolism (PE), i.e. proceeding without shock or pronounced hypotension is described, with focus placed on comparative evaluation of the efficiency of thrombolysis and heparin therapy. The age, sex and concomitant pathologies of the main group patients matched those of the control one. Initially, all of them had systolic pressure in the right ventricle exceeding 40 mm Hg and marked respiratory distress. The immediate results after thrombolysis in these patients proved to be better than after heparin therapy. The long-term results of the above techniques require further investigation.

Pulmonary embolism (PE), right ventricular systolic pressure (RVS), thrombolysis, heparin therapy
