Comparative assessment of technical and technological development of dairy cattle breeding in natural and economic zones of the Rostov region

One of the most important indicators characterizing the efficiency of production, in the conditions ofongoing organizational and economic transformations in the agricultural sector, is the level oftechnological development, which reflects the technical and technological state and is evaluated by aset of indicators that determine not only the technical, but also the zootechnical and economic state oflivestock industries. A high level of technological development is provided by a system of interrelatedmeasures to improve the food supply and genetic potential of animals, as well as an innovative systemfor organizing agricultural production. Therefore, to assess the state and level of technologicaldevelopment of the dairy cattle industry, it is possible to use such indicators as productivity and laborcosts for the production of livestock products. In the presented scientific article, to determine the level of technical and technological development of dairy cattle breeding in the Rostov region, it is proposedto use such an indicator as the "index of the level of technical and technological development", whichallows comparing the level of industrial development of this industry in the natural and economic zonesof the region. According to the "index parity scale", it is determined that the highest level of technicaland technological development of the dairy industry is in the Zernogradsky district of the Rostovregion, which is part of the Southern Natural and Economic Zone. In this zone, most of the livestock isconcentrated in large agricultural enterprises. The Southern zone is characterized by increasedinvestment activity in the construction and modernization of dairy farms. For the innovative andtechnological development of dairy cattle breeding, it is necessary to integrate the conditions for theintroduction of advanced modern technologies, primarily through the construction of new andmodernization of existing premises, the formation of a stable feed base, and the advantages should begiven to the modernization of large agricultural enterprises and the construction of livestock complexesthat ensure the use of innovative technologies and the maintenance of animals with high geneticpotential.
