The article conducts a comparative analysis of approaches to art education in oil painting in China and foreign countries, revealing their main differences and influence on pedagogical practices. The author notes that in China, art education is often regarded as an auxiliary tool for moral education, while in Western countries, the emphasis is on the development of creative individuality and the ability to express oneself. The article emphasizes the need to reform the Chinese painting teaching system in order to adapt it to contemporary realities, improve the quality of teaching and develop students' skills, focusing on the diversity of methods and the value of cultural context.
