The article examines the semiotic content of the wedding ceremony, which is a text created by special symbolic subsystems- codes: linguistic, folklore-poetic, musical, ritual and others. The author conducts a comparative analysis of the subject code of the wedding ceremony of the Tatar and Ko-mi-Permian population living in the Perm territory. Soviet philologist and ethnolinguist A.V. Gura developed a classification of attributes included in the ritual context: providing well-being, connective, predictive, protective, indicating the skill and economy of the bride, as well as being a marker of her virginity. Most of the wedding items are endowed with magical properties, in addition to their practical purpose. The author believes that the long-term residence of Komi-Permians and Tatars in a single territory led to the formation of a common historical mentality, which implies the presence of common features in the cycle of the wedding celebration. In addition, it is impossible to deny the existing differences, since these peoples profess different religions - Christianity and Islam and belong to different ethno-linguistic communities - Finno-Ugric and Turkic. The existing literary and scientific works have not previously conducted a comparative analysis of the wedding ceremony of Komi-Permyaks and Tatars in the aspect of the subject code.
