Statement of the problem. The article considers the problem of development of multicultural educational environment of pedagogical universities of the Siberian Federal District. The research in the field of creation and development of multicultural educational environment of Russian universities is analyzed, the phenomena of ‘multiculturalism’, “multicultural educational environment’ are specified. The purpose of the article is analysis and identification of features of multicultural educational environment of pedagogical universities, scientific substantiation of organizational and pedagogical conditions of its development and proposals for its improvement. The methodology of the research consists of approaches of cultural pluralism, systemic and environmental. The methods of comparative analysis, hypothesizing, and data interpretation are used. Research results. Distinctive features of the multicultural educational environment in the university are identified, organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of a multicultural educational environment in a pedagogical university are scientifically substantiated, criteria for its assessment are proposed, a comparative analysis of the multicultural educational environment in pedagogical universities of the Siberian Federal District is conducted. Analysis of the research results made it possible to identify ways to improve the multicultural educational environment in pedagogical universities.
