Comparative analysis of the development of the Republic of Buryatia and depressed regions of Russia

The article presents the dynamics of the main socioeconomic indexes of development of depressed regions of the Russian Federation. We have analyzed the effectiveness of the target indicators of individual programs for regions with socio-economic underdevelopment, and presented a comparative assessment of the state of the Republic of Buryatia in terms of the key indicators of social and economic depressiveness. It has been revealed that individual programs of regions with socio-economic underdevelopment are suboptimal in terms of achieving target indicators. We have established similar lines in the development of the key indicators of social and economic depressiveness in the Republic of Buryatia and subjects of the Russian Federation with socio-economic underdevelopment despite their better position. It has been noted that the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of individual programs in depressed regions is immature. So, we have concluded that there is a need to develop a tool that would allow monitoring the implementation of individual programs in the regions.
