Comparative analysis of higher education systems in European countries: France, Sweden, Netherlands

The article presents a comparative analysis of the system of higher education in Western countries: France, Sweden, and Netherlands. Some general and particular features in the implementation of models, the state’s role in the formation and development of the educational environment of higher school, and opportunities for professional education of any category of citizens have been provided in the article. Non-state sector of higher education today has one of the key features - a high vitality in difficult conditions of the market economy and the tight control of the state. The competitiveness of state higher school depends, primarily, on his status as a higher education institution itself.
