The article presents an analysis of the key trends in women’s fashion of the 1930s and the 2020s, which allows to trace the patterns and the evolution of women’s images and stylistic solutions. The study examines the visual features of costumes, such as silhouettes, materials, decorative techniques and color palettes. Special attention is given to comparing the elegant, restrained, and classic costumes of the 20th century with more free, experimental and diverse styles of the 21st century. The work provides a detailed analysis of the features of foreign and Soviet costumes of the last century, as well as detailed forecasts of global fashion trends and tendencies, which helps to reveal common patterns in the development of the fashion industry. Design elements and stylistic decisions created by famous designers, fashion houses and brands that significantly influenced the formation of trends and standards of women’s clothing are also discussed. An important part of the research involves studying technological innovations, new materials, and methods of creating collections, trends in functionality that have played a key role in the development of the fashion sphere. The article explores how historical events, economic conditions, political and socio-cultural transformations influenced women’s clothing preferences, as well as compares approaches to femininity in different periods. Additionally, it examines design styles that influenced the fashion of the 20th century, the role of media and digital technologies in popularizing new styles today. The research contributes to a deeper understanding the processes of fashion trends formation and their relationship with social changes for almost a century. The work is intended for specialists in the field of design, costumology and fashion; design students; as well as a wide audience interested in the history of fashion and modern trends in the development of women’s clothing.
