The article performs a comparative analysis of the transformation characteristics of attitudes towards physical self-concept among amputation and aesthetic surgery patients and proves the relevance of this study. The paper presents the author's diagnostic questionnaire, which was developed on the basis of theoretical approaches to the study of the physical self-concept. It shows testing results of this questionnaire. The author affirms that the identification of psychological patterns and their relationships to personal characteristics of aesthetic and amputation surgery respondents can give the necessary material for the development of effective programme related to the psychological adjustment and adaptation of patients in the most difficult situations.
