Comparative analysis of the level and dynamics of socio-economic development of Russian regions

A systematic approach to the comparative analysis of the level and dynamics of socio-economic development of regions is proposed. To conduct a comparative analysis, a minimum set of objective indicators characterizing the level and quality of life of the population of the region was used. The indicator «average per capita real incomes» characterizes the standard of living; the indicator "average life expectancy at birth" characterizes the quality of life. After identifying at the first stage the leading regions and outsider regions with higher and lower values of the selected indicators compared to the average Russian Federation level, the second stage of a more detailed analysis of the socio-economic situation of the regions is carried out with the involvement of a wider range of private indicators. The comparative analysis is carried out in statics, which allows you to select the most and least developed regions now in terms of the level and quality of life, as well as in dynamics, which allows you to assess the consequences of the socio-economic policy implemented in the region over the selected period. To visualize the results of a comparative analysis of regions both in statics and in dynamics, it is proposed to use the coordinate space "standard of living - quality of life". Tracking the trajectory of the image of the region in the specified coordinate space allows you to identify and analyze both positive and negative trends in improving the level and quality of life of the population of the region for a certain period.
