The article presents the results of the studies on the influence of extruded granulated white lupine and crushed unprocessed lupine, applied in addition to the main ration on the milk productivity and milk quality of cows. To solve the problem of protein nutrition of Holstein cows, lupine is considered as a promising forage crop. As an object of study, 3 groups of cows of the 2nd lactation were formed according to the pair-analogue principle, with 5 cows in each group. The cows of the experimental and control groups were kept in the same conditions with tethered housing using a single main ration of the farm. The cows of the control group received the farm ration (FR); experimental group No. 1 had white lupine without additional treatment in addition to the main ration of the farm (FR + WL); experimental group No. 2 had the main ration of the farm + extruded granulated white lupine (FR + EGWL). By the end of the experiment, it was established that additional feeding with crushed unprocessed white lupine grain had less effect than extruded granulated white lupine on milk fat content, milk protein content and somatic cells. With an increase in milk fat content and milk protein content in both experimental groups, it was established that the increase in milk fat content in the first experimental group was 1.1% less than in the experimental group No. 2; the increase in milk protein content was less by 0.93%; and the SNF level was higher by 0.57% in the first experimental group than in the second group. The analysis of the obtained experimental data showed that the most effective for Holstein highyielding cows kept in the industrial complex is the use of extruded granulated white lupine in addition to the main diet to increase milk productivity and improve milk quality.
