The results of comparative monitoring of the emotional states of students of agricultural and medical universities are presented. The psychological features that characterize students as an age and akmeological category are noted. The distinctive factors that cause positive and negative emotions in the university and beyond, depending on the direction of training and specialty, are revealed. The results of the study will be of interest to psychologists and teachers to facilitate the adaptation of first-year students.
