Environment of city residential areas as reagent of the relations "the subject - architectural space"

This article contains a state-of-the-art review of general-theoretical research of formation of city environmental space and features of its perception by inhabitants. The authors consider modern approaches to typological analysis of space of inhabited formations of the city as a system of interaction of functional fields: economic, social, urbanistic, natural and ecological, architectural and composite, placing the main emphasis on style features of architectural space of a large city.
