The relevance of pharmacotherapy of arterial hypertension is well known and beyond doubt. The past coronavirus pandemic has only confirmed this postulate: a significant number of patients left without control by the attending physician have lost adequate control of target blood pressure levels and adherence to treatment. Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are one of the leading drugs in the treatment of hypertension in accordance with current clinical guidelines: along with high antihypertensive potential, they have organoprotective, preiotropic, and most importantly, prognosis-modifying properties. The study analyzed the pharmacoepidemiology of ACE inhibitors in 2018 and 2021.
