Medium-term forecasting of urban population employment in the processing industries of the Saratov region

Basing upon making scenario forecasts the paper examines the regularities of socio-demographic and economic systems and characteristics of their formation and development in the long-term, mediumterm and short-term periods. Depending on a variety of changes variants in the forecast background the analysis and prognosis of able-bodied urban population size are carried out according to the characteristics of demographic reproduction in the Saratov region. Assessment of the impact of state sociodemographic policy measures on the number of the able-bodied population can be taken into account in working out additional measures of regional labour market regulation.
