The medieval and the modern theories of knowledge and perception are different, but at the same time the medieval version has inner discrepancies. Activities of Bridget of Sweden and the controversy around her Revelations give an idea of the practical role played by the system of views on cognition. Evidently, for a medieval person the question of the truth is connected with God. The article focuses on correlation between different ways to reach the truth and different types of sensory perception as it was imaged by a medieval human.
