The paper is dedicated to rare archaeological finds of items made from fish leather that have been discovered in the Vvedenskiy excavation pit of Pereyaslavl Ryazanskiy in the cultural layers dating to the second half of the 15th century. The tradition of using fish leather by indigenous small peoples is well known from ethnographic evidence whereas in Central Russia finds of fish leather among archaeological materials have been unknown. Despite a fragmentary state of the items, the microscopic examination suggests their functional purpose.
