The relevance of this study is determined by the transformation of the scientists’ views on consideration of environmental parameters in the conceptions of strategic management. Despite the observability and significance of environmental management processes, there are no theoretical and methodological generalizations of using this approach in substantiation of the strategic position of companies to date. The article is aimed at distinguishing the elements of environmental management in theories of strategic management - strategic modeling, industrial markets, strategic positioning, the resource theory, the theory of key competencies, the theory of dynamic abilities and strategic networks. As a result, we have concluded that there is a need to determine the formation of specific environments that condition the strategic development of companies. The possibilities of infrastructure management, targeted formation of demand and direct regulation are identified as the directions for development of such environments.
