Media as means of formation of the image of a Soviet teacher in public consciousness

The article shows how the image of a Soviet teacher was formed in public consciousness through mass communications. Television, radio and periodicals of the USSR are considered as the prime tools of propaganda, through which the worldview of people was formed. Analysing the main means of mass communication the author reveals the peculiarities of image formation of a Soviet teacher. The problem of image formation of a Soviet teacher is important and valuable, as the then laid ideas become useful for modernization of contemporary education and formation of a new image of a teacher.
