Means of ideological modality realization in media coverage of military conflict

The article is devoted to the linguistic means of realization of ideological modality in the publications of American and British media, covering the military conflict. The aim is to identify the peculiarities of the military conflict representation in the language of the media. The analysis of articles of the leading US and British news agencies reveals the active use of vocabulary and phraseology with positive or negative connotative meaning, which allows implicitly expressing the assessment of the events in the spirit of the foreign policy conducted by politicians of the states.
