Means of expressing emotive-empathic interaction in speech communication

The article deals with verbal, nonverbal and phonic means of expressing emotions and attitude in speech. These means help to understand the individuals' emotional state and attitude to each other. Cross-cultural communication can lead to misunderstanding due to possible differences in meaning and expression of these means of communication in different cultures and languages. Verbal expression of emotions is possible at all levels of the language system; nonverbal means include opticokinetic, signsymbolic, tactile and spatial-temporal means while phonic means are represented by extralinguistics, paralinguistics and prosody.
