The limitation period and the method of calculating them

The article focuses on the concept and meaning of the limitation period for civil law. The limitation period has its own legal nature in the system of terms, pleasant in the practice of civil law. To determine the essence of the limitation period, the comparative method is used, for the implementation of which the pre-limitation periods used in civil law are considered. In the article, the author substantiates the existence of limitation periods as a legal institution that ensures the stability of civil turnover and the prevention of abuse by subjects of their rights. The author also believes that when defining the concept of the limitation period, it is necessary to apply the teleological research method.
